The Morning Offering

I loved to get Abbot Tryphon's daily thoughts on his Facebook Page, but now that I no longer have Facebook I'm glad to say I can still receive daily wisdom from The Morning Offering. I also bought one for my mother as a Christmas gift. Thank you!

I regularly reread The Morning Offering's daily meditations for Christian inspiration and education. The short essays are easy to read and understand, but astute and cover serious topics, such as asceticism, contemporary American social issues, and Orthodox theology. I like Abbot Tryphon's sense of humor, candor, and kindness towards the book's audience and open-minded discussions of diverse people. This book is very helpful in learning how to be an Orthodox Christian in today's America, focusing on the the need for a "humble and contrite heart" to repent and draw near to God. Finally, the stories of people seeking and finding God are inspiring.

Abbot Tryphon’s writings are assisting me with my spiritual journey towards Orthodox Christianity. He helps me humbly examine my conscience and learn ways in which I can improve myself. I realize that I don’t have to compete with anyone other than myself during my spiritual journey. (And, that is challenging enough!). I want to learn how to be the best that I can be - All for God. Abbot Tryphon’s book is helping me in this regard. If something he has written makes me squirm a little, I know that I need to pay special attention to it! I begin each morning with his daily reading. His book is a timeless treasure that can be utilized year after year as we are always growing spiritually. Thank you very much!
