Peggy's Peacock Swirl Soap

Product Description

Inspired by our best customer, Peggy, we wanted to include her two favorite scents which go well together; vanilla and lavender. We wanted it to be vibrant with colors and swirls to match her vibrant personality.

Just about any vanilla fragrance smells like true vanilla will turn soap into a dark brown. So the work-around was to divide the soap batter in half and scent the bottom with vanilla and the top with lavender essential oil. The top batter is colored and then layered bit by bit until the mold box is full. Then a fine toothed comb is drawn through the colors into feather shaped swirls. A second swirl then pulls the feathers into a peacock pattern. The method comes from a ancient paper-painting technique from the Byzantine Empire, kept alive by the Turks and Italians to this day.

This soap is a feast for the eyes and for the nose. 

Soap base made from scratch, using Olive, coconut, palm and castor oils.
